This course covers a wide range of dramatists from the Renaissance England to contemporary British literary scene. It tries to give the students an overall picture of the history of British drama. It aims to develop students’ knowledge, understanding, and enjoyment of drama as a genre. It also endeavors to cultivate their critical skills with dramatists on page and stage. It attempts to develop their skills of literary criticism and appreciation as well. By the end of the semester, students should be able to enjoy drama more intensely both as readers and theatre goers.
