教学目的要求
This course includes two parts - lectures and laboratory practice. The lectures introduce the methods of managing and processing geospatial data, and cover the topics of coordinate systems, spatial data models and structures, spatial analysis, and GIS models and modeling. The laboratory practice is designed to help students to master a GIS software (i.e. ArcGIS desktop) by a number of experiences on data management, data analysis, GIS modeling, and result presentation.

Dr. Xianfeng Song is a Professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, specializing in remote sensing and GIS. Prior to joining UCAS, he held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Professor at Kyoto University from 2000 to 2005. With over twenty-five years of experience, his research expertise focuses on remote sensing hydrology, human trajectory analysis, and the development of open-source GIS systems with Python-based solutions for geo-computations in the field of earth sciences.
Dr. Ci Song is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research expertise lies in spatial data mining, spatial analysis, and geographic information science. He has dedicated his studies to investigating travel flows of urban residents across various scales, uncovering insightful spatiotemporal patterns associated with different travel purposes.
Dr. Jiawei Yi is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He specializes in geospatial big data mining for urban disaster monitoring, nature reserve protection, and extreme climate perception. With degrees in GIS from Wuhan University and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Yi has published over 30 research papers in renowned international journals such as Science of The Total Environment, Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, and International Journal of Geographic Information Science.
