第1节 Communication is a basic life skill, as important as the skills by which you make your way through school or earn a living.

第1节 Listening--Active, Paraphrasing, Clarifying and Giving Feedback.

第1节 Assertiveness training teaches you to express your feelings, thoughts, and wishes, and to stand up for your legitimate rights without violating the rights of others.
第2节 Assertiveness is a skill you can acquire, not a personality trait that some people are born with and others are not.
第3节 You might have no trouble being assertive with your family, yet find it almost impossible to be assertive with strangers.

第5节 One of the major reasons people have difficulty being assertiveness that they experience criticism as rejection.
第6节 This is often a leftover from childhood, when you faced criticism from a one-down position.

叶先扬，早年毕业于台湾成功大学，后赴美国留学，分别在布朗大学、哥伦比亚大学和南加州大学取得了应用数学硕士、工程力学硕士和结构力学博士学位。 1986叶先扬博士加入加州州立大学长滩分校机械工程系，现为该系教授。叶教授还曾经担任过美国核电工程顾问公司的结构及核能工程师、美国太空总署(NASA)资深工程师、美国麦道飞机公司特约顾问等职务。叶教授的研究兴趣主要包括复合材料力学、断裂和损伤力学、结构和机械部件失效分析和设计。
